Bio:
Gary has been playing the guitar off and on since he was 9 or 10, and got his first and only bass in the summer of 1999, a gift along with an amp from his brother and father. Soon thereafter, schoolmate Ryan Takahashi approached him and asked him to join his band, '7% Milk', early in the school year. Gary played bass for the band, including Ryan on lead guitar, Andriy Isakov on rhythm, and Kenny Wong on drums. Andriy and Kenny left after a show at the Coquitlam Town Centre stadium, and Ben Ho filled in on drums for the next few years. 7% Milk came 2nd in a local Battle-of-the-Bands, and dead last in another one. The band changed their name to 'bei6' and released a self-produced demo. Following graduation, the trio parted ways as Ben left for the University of Waterloo, Ryan to Simon Fraser University, and Gary to the working world.
In 2005, Gary re-joined with Ryan in his band, 'Punkouver', along with drummer Young Kim. The band has recently changed its name to 'Freezing Cheese Disease', sent a two-song demo to Long & McQuade's 'Metal Mania', and played at the UBC Japan Association-sponsored 'Bandmania 2006'.
Vocals have been a relatively new duty for Gary, since the band has not been graced with a better full-time vocalist at this point. The outcome of this remains to be seen.
